Ingredients
  

Crust

  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Filling

  • 2 cups cream cheese, softened Make sure it is fully softened to avoid lumps.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs Add one at a time.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups diced apples Use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce Drizzle on top.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.
  • In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan to form a crust.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar together until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  • Fold in the diced apples and cinnamon. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust.
  • Drizzle caramel sauce over the top and swirl it with a knife.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until the edges are set.
  • Allow to cool, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before cutting into bars.

Notes

These bars can be served chilled or at room temperature. A drizzle of extra caramel sauce on top is highly recommended. They pair wonderfully with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. For longer storage, freeze them well-wrapped.
