Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef Use lean ground beef to reduce extra grease.
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese.
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • ketchup Add to taste.
  • mustard Add to taste.
  • pickles Add to taste.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef with the diced onion over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add half of the cheddar cheese to the meat mixture and stir to combine.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

Assembly

  • Pour half of the batter into a greased pie dish.
  • Add the beef and cheese mixture on top of the batter.
  • Pour the remaining batter over the beef mixture and sprinkle the rest of the cheddar cheese on top.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pie is golden brown and set in the center.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

You can make this recipe ahead of time and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days. To reheat, microwave a slice or warm it in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
