Cheesy Meatball Subs are a delicious meal combining savory meatballs, marinara sauce, and melted cheese in a soft hoagie roll.

Ingredients
  

For the Meatballs

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 each egg
  • to taste Salt and pepper

For the Subs

  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 8 each hoagie rolls
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into meatballs.

Cooking

  • Bake meatballs on a baking sheet for 25 minutes or until cooked through.
  • In a saucepan, heat the marinara sauce and add the cooked meatballs.
  • Place hoagie rolls on a baking sheet and fill each with meatballs and sauce.
  • Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake in the oven for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serving

  • Serve Cheesy Meatball Subs hot out of the oven. You can add extra toppings like sliced jalapeños, chopped olives, or fresh basil for extra flavor.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for about 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
