  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature Ensure butter is at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Chocolate

  • 2 cups chocolate chunks Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup chocolate for coating Melt for dipping the cookies.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chunks.

Baking

  • Drop tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden on the edges.
  • After baking, melt the chocolate for coating and dip the bottom of each cookie into the melted chocolate.
  • Let the cookies cool on a wire rack until the chocolate hardens.

Notes

These cookies are best served warm, right out of the oven. Enjoy them with a glass of cold milk, on a dessert platter, or with ice cream for an indulgent treat.
