Ingredients
  

Pastry and Filling

  • 1 sheet puff pastry Thawed properly
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced Can substitute with frozen strawberries, thawed and drained
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened Ensure it's softened for easy mixing
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg for egg wash Beaten

Glaze

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar For drizzling on top
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk To mix with powdered sugar for glaze

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into squares.
  • In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square, and top with a few slices of strawberries.
  • Fold the corners of the pastry square over the filling to form a danish shape.
  • Brush the tops with beaten egg.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Glazing

  • For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth and drizzle over the warm danishes.

Notes

Best served warm, with an option to sprinkle extra powdered sugar on top. Can pair with coffee or tea. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days or refrigerate for about a week. Reheat in the oven for best results.
