Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat. Drain the fat.
  • Mix the taco seasoning and salsa into the beef. Stir until well combined.

Assembly

  • In a baking dish, layer the tortilla chips or tortillas, beef mixture, and shredded cheese.
  • Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  • Once out of the oven, feel free to add toppings like guacamole, sour cream, or hot sauce. Serve warm!

Notes

You can prepare the casserole a day ahead and store it in the refrigerator until you're ready to bake it. To store leftovers, let it cool completely and keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days, or freeze it for longer storage.
