  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder Adjust according to spice preference.
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For sautéing.

  • In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until soft.
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  • Stir in chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper, mixing well.
  • Add drained beans and crushed tomatoes. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Serve with toppings like shredded cheese, chopped green onions, or a dollop of sour cream. Can be paired with cornbread or tortilla chips. Adjust the spice level to your preference.
